Jelly Sauce Sauces & Gravies

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 cup jelly(any kind but currant)
1 tbsp. sherry
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Heat sugar and water, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves; then let mixture boil about 5 minutes. Stir in jelly; heat gently, still stirring, until jelly melts. Remove from heat;add sherry and lemon juice.

Delicious served hot and cold with waffles, pancakes, custard, tapioca, icecream or plain cake. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
