Orange Bread Joan's Breads

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
2 eggs, beaten lightly
rind of 1 1/2 oranges
juice of 3 oranges + milk to make 1 cup of liquid

Sift the dry ingredients together.

Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly. Add beaten eggs and orange rind and beat again.

Alternately add dry ingredients and liquid to the butter-sugar mix, with flour first and last.

Let stand 20 minutes before baking.

Put in a large bread pan, greased, and bake 1 hour at 350 F.

Better the next day.
